Meg McDonald

About the Artist

"Marks, whether etched onto clay or brushed onto canvas emerge as the language through which I express a yearning for balance and connection. These marks like tattoos on the land and spirit, dance between positive and negative spaces. An interplay between light and shadow, harmony and discord, creation and erosion, life and death. These fleeting instants of equilibrium between opposing forces, mirror the delicate equilibrium we strive to find in our own lives.

Much like the ways marks etch themselves into the landscape, they also imprint upon the soul. Through the process of mark making, I inscribe emotions, memories and experiences. The land bears scars of time shaped by wind, water and human touch. So too do our spirits, bear the marks of our journeys."
